Hospital pharmacist

 Objectives

The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) is a new, state-of-the-art hospital with 300 beds and offering a wide range of specialized medical care. CMC caters to the island of Curaçao with a population of 160,000 inhabitants and functions as a regional hospital for the Dutch Caribbean for specific Medical specializations.

The in-house pharmacy is in charge of the pharmaceutical supply and associated specialist pharmaceutical care for CMC patients.

 

Place within the organization

The hospital has a brand new inpatient and outpatient pharmacy.

The clinical pharmacy has a production unit with clean rooms for aseptic preparations including TPV, biologicals and oncolytic. The outpatient pharmacy provides pharmaceutical care to CMC employees as well as specific patient groups.

The hospital has outsourced the TDM and Toxicological analyses with an external laboratory, but the interpretation of the results is done by the CMC hospital pharmacists.

 

Main tasks

  • Performing specialized pharmaceutical patient care

Purpose of the position:

Urology is practiced across the board including prostate, kidney and bladder and both laparoscopic and open procedures. We also carry out many endo-urology (PNL and URS) procedures. We are looking for an urologist with an affinity for laparoscopy and endoscopy, in addition to general urology. Experience and/or super specialization is desirable but not required. The hospital

The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) is the only general hospital in Curaçao. The primary market is the island of Curaçao with 160,000 inhabitants. CMC also has a regional referral function for specialized care. In addition to general basic care, the hospital has various top clinical functions, such as lung cancer diagnostics, neonatology I.C., pressure tank and a radiation center. There is a collaboration with Erasmus MC. The CMC is a training clinic for interns (M2 affiliation in collaboration with UMCG), ANIOS and AIOS.

 

De department

The department currently consists of three pulmonologists (2.8 FTE) and one pulmonologist for the Rendu-Osler-Weber project (0.2 FTE). The group will expand to 4.0 FTE in 2022. Pulmonary medicine is being practiced to its full extent. There are A(N)IOS for A&E, clinic and the evening, night and weekend shift, in collaboration with internal medicine and cardiology. The quality of care is partly maintained by MDOs for various differentiation areas. Thoracic surgery is done in-house. There is also good cooperation outside the hospital with the tuberculosis service, sleep center and rehabilitation clinic.

The Radiodiagnostic Technician B reports to the Chief Radiology Technician.

 

Main tasks:

  • Taking care of the overall preparations in one or more of the above disciplines;
  • Interpreting clinical information on applications taking into account previous studies;
  • As a supervisory radiation expert, bearing responsibility for the radiation safety of patients, colleagues and third parties;

  • Knowledge at the level of a Bachelor degree in Medical Imaging and Radiotherapeutic Techniques (MBRT-Bachelor of Health) supplemented with a post Bachelor diploma in CT, MRI, Ultrasound or Interventional Radiology with demonstrable experience of at least 1 year within these disciplines;
  • Valid diploma for Radiation Hygiene, expertise level 4 A/B;
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate;

Radiologist  

Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), a state-of-the art hospital located in Curaçao,, opened its doors in 2019. With 300 beds and more than 23 specializations, CMC serves the local community of Curaçao and the Caribbean region. Serviceline
