WILLEMSTAD, January 2, 2026 – During holidays (between December 24, 2025 and January 1, 2026) the Emergency Department at Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) registered 30 emergency cases related to traffic accidents, fireworks, stabbing and also physical abuse, of which 10 were hospitalized. There were no fatalities.
Regarding cases of burns, Emergency Department registered 5 cases related to fireworks and 1 accident of burns not related to fireworks. Of these, 3 people were hospitalized.
Furthermore CMC registered 17 traffic accidents of which 6 people were hospitalized.
One case of stabbing and six of physical abuse were also registered.
