WILLEMSTAD, January 2, 2025 – During holidays (between December 24, 2024 and January 1, 2025) the Emergency Department at Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) registered 42 emergency cases. These are cases of traffic accidents, fireworks, stabbing / shooting and also physical abuse, of which 11 were hospitalized. There were no fatalities.
Regarding cases of burns, Emergency Department registered 12 cases related to fireworks and 1 accident of burns not related to fireworks. Of these, 4 people were hospitalized.
Furthermore CMC registered 23 traffic accidents of which 8 people were hospitalized.
Two cases of stabbing/shooting and four of physical abuse were also registered.
