Willemstad january 18th, 2023 – Prior to moving to the new building of Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), the employees had a wish for the new hospital to have its own gym. But due to other priorities and lack of resources, CMC was not able to realize this.
Exercise is important not only for physical health, but also mental health and wellbeing. So while taking care of patients, our colleagues also need to create healthy habits and take care of themselves. With the COVID-19 pandemic behind us, we have realized the importance of bringing the original wish back to life. However, the resources are still lacking. In process of coming up with ways to raise funds, the social committee came with the idea to do a walk for this cause.
When Baoase Luxury Resort heard about the initiative, they did not hesitate and jumped at the opportunity to contribute with USD $9,550 from funds raised through their fishing tournament. The tournament’s sponsors also included: Moneyball, van der Valk hotels & restaurants, Winefactory, Mood Beach, Epic, Bucketlist and Blue Bay. CMC is sincerely thankful to these organizations for giving CMC employees a jump start to get to the total funds needed a faster.
The walk will take place on Saturday, March 25th at 6 p.m. More details on the registration process will follow soon.
