Curaçao Medical Center Announces Recruitment Process CEO

WILLEMSTAD, May 29, 2024 – Following the presentation of the 2022 annual results, Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) is announcing the commencement of the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Mr. Gilbert Martina.  As stated in the press release of April 26, 2024, Mr. Martina, who has led CMC since the transition period began in October 2017, will reach the maximum 8-year term for his appointment as a statutory director in June 2025, in accordance with the statutory obligations of CMC Exploitatie.

Mr. Martina has consistently shown strong leadership, driven by effective people management and a clear vision for the future. Under Mr. Martina’s leadership, CMC has made significant strides towards becoming a leading healthcare facility in the Caribbean. His leadership was crucial in navigating the challenges during the outbreak of COVID-19, in taking the necessary steps to achieve JCI accreditation in the coming period, in exploring the possibilities of medical tourism, and in embedding the philosophy of ‘Sirbi ku Amor’ (Serve with Love) within the organizational culture and daily operations.

With the support of a specialized recruitment agency, the Supervisory Board of CMC has initiated the search for a suitable successor who will continue to lead CMC in achieving its ambitious goals, with a dedication to providing high-quality care and excellent service at the forefront.
