Willemstad, May 9, 2025 – Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) confirms that Professor Dr. Ingemar Merkies has submitted his resignation as Medical Director, effective December 31, 2025. Dr. Merkies joined CMC in October 2019 and has played a key role in guiding the hospital during its early and formative years. He has chosen to return fully to his professional focus on neurology and academic research.
The Supervisory Board acknowledges Dr. Merkies’ significant contributions to enhancing medical services for the Curaçao community during his tenure. We thank him for his dedication and leadership, and we wish him continued success in his future endeavors.
