CMC Collaborates with IFE, NASHKO and UMCG/WIOO to Elevate Healthcare Standards

WILLEMSTAD, November 29, 2023 — Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) is proud to announce the collaboration with partners toward a comprehensive transformation of nurse training programs that will advance the quality of healthcare and benefit for the entire country. This collaboration is with Instituto pa Formashon den Enfermeria (IFE), NASHKO (Netherlands-Caribbean Foundation for Clinical Higher Education) and the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG)/Wenckebach Institute of Education and Training (WIOO.

The primary objective of this collaborative effort is to modernize the standard training for nurses, aligning it with European benchmarks. A key focus is the revitalization of the IFE curriculum, ensuring a closer connection to practical applications and ultimately delivering enhanced healthcare services.

A significant milestone in this partnership was marked today, November 29th, with a pivotal meeting hosted at CMC. Representatives from the UMCG/WIOO provided insights into the trajectory of quality improvement. Notable attendees included nursing leaders from CMC and educators from IFE.

Referred to as the “Gilde Traject” (Guild Trajectory) at UMCG/WIOO, this collaboration extends to Regional Training Centers (ROCs) in Groningen, specifically Alfa College, Menso Alting, and Noorderpoort, and now in Curaçao.

ROC Menso Alting, a vocational education institution, offers programs in Economy, Healthcare, Welfare, and Service. Their mission aligns with preparing students to be valued and motivated professionals, emphasizing societal contributions and personal growth. Expressing satisfaction with the dedication of our nurses, CMC acknowledges their continuous commitment to professional development to meet elevated quality standards.
