New Mural at CMC’s Pediatric department

Willemstad November 4th, 2021 – Yesterday a special project with beautiful illustrations, that narrate a
captivating story was inaugurated to make the children’s department at the Curacao Medical Center
livelier. In the design and storyline the parakeet, Doctor Pedro, takes you to various landscapes in Curaçao
to meet up with all the different animals that live here. The three organizations that joined forces to make
this project possible are, Ronald McDonald House Charities Curacao Foundation, Mucha pa Mucha
Foundation and Foundation Clini Clowns Curacao. This project could be realized thanks to the financial
support of Johannes Bosco Foundation, Abram E. Salas Foundation, the Representation of Holland in
Curacao and RBC bank.

“The Children’s Department, just like any other in the hospital is very modern and nice but we were
missing some color to bring joy to our kids and their parents. This is a very important aspect during any
hospital stay,” mentions Claudia Rigaud, Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities Curacao. Together
with architect Omar Zimmerman (the project coordinator) and Hirons Caribbean (the design team) the
ideas came to life. “We are very proud of the outcome” Marina de Miranda physical therapist and member
of Mucha pa Mucha Foundation adds. “This is a big change for us healthcare workers that are working
daily on the children’s department. We can now use the walls in a fun and interactive way to also to do
some exercise with the kids.
