World’s smallest pacemaker implanted at CMC

Willemstad, December 27th  – Today, for the second time this year, our Cardiology team lead by Dr. Olivier Witte  implanted world’s smallest pacemaker in a patient. This pacemaker, Micra®, is implanted in patients that experience a heart rhythm that is too slow.  With this particular pacemaker the patient has less chances of complications or infections and also less chance for scarring. The procedure takes one hour.
