Your Life, Your Breath, Protect it: Youth Vaping

Willemstad, November 1, 2025 — Alarming evidence reveals that vaping is rapidly spreading among children in Curaçao, some as young as eight. Recognizing the growing threat to youth health, Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), the Ministry of Health, Environment & Nature (GMN), and Fundashon Maneho di Adikshon (FMA) have joined forces in a national movement to raise awareness, educate, and protect our youth.

Despite its trendy image, vaping is harmful. E-cigarettes contain nicotine, heavy metals, and toxic chemicals that can cause addiction, lung damage, and long-term respiratory illness. Local health experts have confirmed that several youth are already receiving medical treatment for vaping-related complications, making this campaign both urgent and essential. Vaping, is a fast track to addiction and lasting lung harm. Our youth deserve real information, not marketing myths.

Experts from FMA, CMC, and GMN will visit schools across Curaçao for interactive educational sessions. The school visits are already part of an ongoing program, but this month extra attention is given on the topic. These sessions will feature powerful visuals, real-life stories, and practical tools to help youth make informed, healthy choices and resist vaping pressures.

Several schools have already registered, but a few presentation slots remain available. Schools can register here: Petishon pa charla 2 – FMA
